Ranchers Development Company, LLC, a Springfield, MO based Andy’s Frozen Custard franchisee, has purchased the former Rib Crib site near Robinson Street & I-35.
Eric Reed, CEO of the company, stated “We have multiple units in and development rights for several territories in Oklahoma, Texas and Florida.
It is our primary goal to maintain the highest level of operations and management for the Andy’s brand!”
Andy’s Frozen Custard was founded in 1986 in Osage Beach, MO. As of August 31, 2023 there were over 150 Andy’s Frozen Custard locations domestically.
Current locations in Oklahoma include a location on Northwest Expressway in Warr Acres, two locations in Edmond, two locations in Tulsa, a location in Broken Arrow, and a location in Owasso.
The company paid $800,000 for the 1 acre parcel located at 1131 Rambling Oaks Drive, just west of I-35 and south of Robinson Street. The purchase closed September 6, 2023.
The site sits south of Waffle House and adjacent to the shuttered Regal Spotlight movie theater (formerly Hollywood Theaters). The theater closed due to COVID-19 in October 2020 and has not reopened.
The theater group submitted a $5,000,000 building permit for a remodel in April 2022. The permit was approved but remains incomplete.
Meanwhile, the neighboring hotel at 1000 N Interstate Drive owned by Norman Hospitality, Inc. announced in June 2016 they would renovate the hotel into one of the first Delta by Marriott hotels in the United States. The renovation was expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2017.
There are currently two permits for the hotel: an approved permit for $5,000,000 and an additional permit submitted for $1,500,000. Both permits remain incomplete.
As of September 2023, Delta operates over 45 hotel locations domestically.
Norman Hospitality, Inc. is a subsidiary of Premier Hospitality Management, Inc. headquartered in Durant, OK. The company was founded in 1992 by Raj Patel, an OU Alumni.
The City of Norman recently spent over $5,000,000 to reconfigure Robinson Street West of I-35 and reconstruct intersections at Rambling Oaks Drive and Crossroads Boulevard.
