Slick City Action Park plans Norman location in former Habitat ReStore on West Main

Norman Action Park LLC has filed a $750,000 building permit for 1100 W. Main St. for a new Slick City Action Park location. The location would be the company's third in Oklahoma, joining existing locations in south Oklahoma City and in Tulsa.

Slick City describes itself as the first indoor slide park in the world. The family entertainment center is built around dry slides rather than the trampolines that anchor most of its competitors. The South Oklahoma City park advertises more than 20 slides and air courts, plus Mini Motors go-karts, a swing-and-trapeze setup and a "Junior Jungle" zone for children 5 and under.

The chain was founded in 2022 by Bron Launsby and Gary Schmit and is headquartered in Denver. It began franchising in early 2024 and has scaled quickly: as of April 2026, Slick City reported more than 150 units signed or open, with 35 parks operating and 65 projected open by the end of this year.

The building at 1100 W. Main, owned by Steers Foods Inc., was built as a grocery store and sits directly across Main Street from Norman High School. Slick City will occupy the northernmost suite in the 36,000-square-foot building. Its portion would be just under 24,000 square feet- encompassing the entire former Habitat space. The remaining space is occupied by NorthHaven Church. 

Habitat announced in June 2024 that it would leave rather than renew, citing a projected 250% rent increase. The nonprofit now operates its ReStore at 831 Sonoma Park Dr. on Norman's east side.

Slick City's website lists Norman under its "coming soon" parks with an estimated opening in early 2027.
