Two developments are underway at the entrance of University North Park’s newest section.
Dubbed Legacy Village, the 30-acre area sits east across 24th Avenue NW from Legacy Park and bordered by Crest Foods on the south, Embassy Suites on the north, and Max Westheimer Airport to the east.
Originally described as a “Lifestyle Center,” and later a “Town Center,” the area was to be a “high-end retail development” with “key entertainment components, including a [movie] theater” according to the 2006 University North Park TIF Project Plan.
The area was envisioned to be walkable, with buildings pulled close to the street and parking lots tucked behind the buildings.
Roadway modifications, on-street reverse angle parking, street furniture, landscaping, and a gateway sign at the entrance of Legacy Village were completed in Summer 2023.
Norman-based Brockhaus Jewelry is well underway constructing their new store on the northeast corner of the Legacy Village entrance at 24th Ave NW and Legacy Park Drive.
The local jeweler purchased the 0.8-acre lot at 1905 24th Avenue NW for $750,000 in January 2023 and subsequently filed a $2.9 Million permit to construct the 7,700 square foot building.
The facility will include a large showroom with mezzanine, a dedicated Rolex section, and a tenant space available for lease. Opening is anticipated to be in April 2024.
Founded in 1952, Brockhaus Jewelry made their home Campus Corner before moving to their current location on west Main Street.
To the south across Legacy Park Drive, Scottsdale, Arizona based fast casual chain P.F. Chang’s has filed permits to construct a new location.
P.F. Chang’s serves Asian fusion cuisine made from scratch that is “inspired by the great street food cities across Asia” according to their website.
Founded in 1993, the chain currently operates over 300 restaurants across 39 states including a location in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
