Starbucks has filed plans to build a new freestanding cafe and drive-thru at the corner of West Lindsey Street and South Berry Road.
The site, on the southwest corner of Lindsey and Berry, is currently home to a vacant gas station.
Plans show the coffee chain will build a 1,141 square foot cafe with an over-size drive-thru that wraps around the site and is able to accommodate 13 cars. Entrance to the site will be only from the Lindsey street side, with exits to both Lindsey and Berry.
Starbucks currently operates 6 locations in Norman: freestanding locations at Classen & Highway 9, and Main Street; Cafes in Brookhaven Village, University North Park and on Campus Corner; and a location inside Super Target.
As Norman Development first reported in July 2021, a new location is currently under construction and nearing completion near the instersection of West Tecumseh Road and Highway 77 (North Flood Ave).
A location located inside the Oklahoma Memorial Union recently reopened after closing for the Fall 2020 semester due to COVID-19. As reported by OU Daily, OU is currently seeking bids for an expanded Starbucks inside OMU.
The intersection, the gateway to the Unversity of Oklahoma, is also occupied by Penny Hill subs on the south east corner. A retail strip center has been proposed for the north east corner.
